World Health Organization Director General Margaret Chan met with Peng Liyuan
Tobacco, according to the Ministry of Health web site reports the afternoon of July 20, visiting China at the World Health Organization Director-General Margaret Chan, met with the Ministry of Health AIDS prevention promoters, tuberculosis prevention ambassador, the World Health Organization AIDS and TB Prevention Goodwill Ambassador Peng Liyuan.
Peng Liyuan congratulates Margaret Chan, successfully re-elected WHO Director-General, thank WHO for its trust, the appointment of Goodwill Ambassador as AIDS and tuberculosis control. She introduced recently to participate in AIDS prevention work and future work is envisaged and expressed willingness to continue to actively participate in the AIDS and TB prevention and control of advocacy work, to contribute to the Chinese and global public health.
Dr Chan said that the motherland and the 1.3 billion Chinese people is powerful backing for their successful re-election. She thanked Peng Liyuan as a Goodwill Ambassador on WHO AIDS and TB prevention and control, made an outstanding contribution in terms of publicity for AIDS and TB prevention, control and the dangers of tobacco, I hope to continue to invite their participation in the WHO maternal and child health advocacy activities in support of Africa and other global health action.
The person in charge of the International Department of the Ministry of Health attended the meeting.
